• Elina Milan was born on March 5, 1986 in Kazakhstan’s largest city Almaty.
• Her interest in music started whilst attending school between 1992 and 2003. She always enjoyed music lessons and creative subjects, but because she was a straight A student she didn’t have the time to think about it seriously…After school, she then went on to study Philosophy and Politics at Kazakhstan’s top university KazNU. She also enjoys learning English, and finding out new things about other cultures, so after graduating in 2007, she now studies World culture and English language.
• But it was two years ago that she realized she had to start doing the thing that she really had a passion for…music! Not really knowing where to start, she bought a synthesizer and started to teach herself!
• In 2007 her cousin gave her the music program “Dance 3”. This showed her more possibilities to make music, and it was using this, that Elina made her first track…“Illusion”.
It was an excellent first attempt, even now a lot of people find it hard to believe that it was Elina’a first ever piece of music! After “Dance 3” she worked with other programs and has since progressed to FL Studio 8. Now she wants to learn more difficult programs for making music.
• When Elina first started, she wasn’t sure what kind of music she’d like to make.
She enjoys listening to lots of different styles and you can hear all these influences in her works. Cuz she feels strongly that there isn’t such a thing as bad music…just, different music. Different music for different moods.
• But there was one track that made her realize which direction she wanted to take with her music – Armin Van Buuren’s “Communication”. After falling in love with the sound of Armin, she finally understood that trance was everything that she needed. Since that moment Elina’s been addicted to creating music! It’s not just a hobby…music is the one way for Elina to say what she can’t say with words.
• She’s also a songwriter who records her own songs. In 2007 she gained 2nd place in an MTV internet contest singing the Britney Spears song “Baby one more time”. This success gave her the belief that she needed, to realize she could sing.
• Now she is working with American and Russian musicians. You can hear her voice in more than 100 different tracks and mixes.
• Also she was invited for a main role in 2 american music videos.
• As well as writing songs and recording music, Elli spends her free time drawing, taking pictures, visiting new places, dancing, listening to music, web design, going to concerts and the movies, hanging out with her friends or even just being alone…and what else?…of course she likes spending time on the Internet : )
• Elina now has 15 sites with 20,000 friends from all over the world. She shows her appreciation to her friends by trying to respond to everyone’s comments.
• With the main sponsors of her sites “Dolce and Gabbanna” and Modeling Agency “Dirty Shirty Girls” she supports the cause “Art and Culture”.
• Well, as you can see she’s a girl who wants to keep doing what she likes doing : )
and she’s not gonna stop, because this is just the beginning…
